From January 11 – 15, 2021, ILEA Roswell partnered with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS) to develop and host the first virtual alumni forum on wildlife trafficking. The Executive Policy and Development Alumni Forum on Transnational Organized Crime - Wildlife Trafficking brought together alumni of the Executive Policy and Development Symposiums on Transnational Organized Crime – Wildlife Trafficking and Model Law, hosted at ILEA Roswell in 2018 and 2019.
Throughout the forum, FWS instructors and participants discussed updates in current wildlife trafficking trends as well as technical guidance for best methods of intervention. Additionally, the course aimed to highlight alumni efforts to implement wildlife trafficking policy.
ILEA Roswell thanks the alumni from Indonesia, Kenya, Namibia, Tanzania, Thailand, Uganda, and Zambia, who joined us for a week of great discussions and collaboration!
